Discovery!

My friend Maureen is a teacher so this week we made a play-date at the local kid museum. Olivia hadn't seen Finn in a few months so she was excited to hang out with "baby" Laina who is now 1 1/2!! Olivia loved playing in the water section of the museum, but what I love most about the museum is that it is extremly educational. There is a whole section about mechanic, mayan ruins, and many other areas.  It encourages hand on learning which is a great tool for Liv at this age!  She also loves the home-depot area. Steve and Liv go every saturday after they go to the pancake store (I-hop!) It's there special daddy-daughter date every week and Olivia really looks forward to it!

Liv loved playing in the water area!

Maddie was all smiles :)

Christmas at the Beane's!

This was our first Christmas in Tennessee without any family. In the days leading up to the holiday I was very homesick, however Christmas eve and the holiday itself, was so busy  I didn't even have time to be homesick. Christmas Eve we hung around the house and made cookies for Santa, of course Liv was convinced Santa wanted extra sprinkles!

Steve read, "The Night Before Christmas," to both girls and Liv was so excited she asked him to read it again.  Maddie fell asleep quickly, while it took Olivia almost 2 hours because she kept saying she heard Santa on the roof! The next morning Liv forgot was Christmas morning, until we walked downstairs, (she is my daughter after all!) Steve and I had an idea that we were going to tear through all the presents in a matter of minutes...boy were we wrong! Olivia delicately opened each gift, it took HOURS to open her gifts~she of course wanted to play with Maddie's toys more than her own.  Maddie kept trying to eat the wrapping paper! We headed over to our friend's house after for a nice Christmas meal :)  Christmas really does has a new meaning once you have kids, we could care less about everything except our kids.  We have two healthy beautiful girls who are getting older by the minute and couldn't be any happier!!

Cookies and a teething biscuit!

So we made some cookies to leave out for Santa, and it turned into a GIANT mess. Mistake number one, introducing Liv to flour, you can imagive how messy it went from there! Maddie has just started eating the teething biscuits so while we made cookies she munched away in her highchair:)

happy and taking her first bite!

deep in thought....

lots of flour!

our plate for santa!

dogs eating flour.....weird I know

Rockettes!

Last night we headed to see the Rockettes that were touring at the Old Opry house in Nashville.  Olivia was beyond excited when we told her because she had seen the commercial and loves to dance! The theater itself was very old, there were no individual seats, rather rows of benches.  We had the "nosebleed" section which was good because there were a few other parents with cheap seats who had the same idea as us.  As soon as the show started Olivia refused to communicate with us.. no eye contact, wouldn't even take her coat off!! During the intermission Liv was showing off her dance moves to a few older patrons sitting near us, it was very cute when she was imitating the kicks!

Steve is proud...shes in her fur doing, "first down"
