Playground Fun!

So you would have no idea it is fall down here, temperatures today are going to hit the 90's, so we decided to head out early before it got to hot out and hit up the local playground. We met up with a few friends and loved getting outdoors. Olivia now plays on her own, climbing up ladders going down the slide alone and crawling through the tunnel. It was not too long ago that I had to hover around on the playground! Since Mad is a little (ok...alot!) big for her age, I wanted to try out the swings a month earlier than I did with Olivia. We headed to the swings and after getting her all set in the swing we started pushing, she LOVED it!!! She was all smiles and Liv loved being the big sister pushing her!! Of course Liv looked up at a passing airplane and got nailed by the swing resulting in a fat lip and red check.....sound familiar?!? Here are the pictures~

Mad had some squash for lunch!

Both girls swinging!

very happy!(notice her belly  hanging out:)

Dancing with the Stars!

Yesterday while I was watching my Good Morning America, Olivia saw a commercial for Dancing with the stars.  All day she kept saying she wanted to watch it, so after dinner and her bath we let her watch it for a half hour (due to time change it is on at 7 here).  Well she lasted about 2 seconds on the couch before she was trying to imitate moves and sing along...here is a video of her :)

Bath Time!

Daddy..aka future NHL player!

So this past Friday night, Steve got a great opportunity with the men's league he plays in the skate on Bridgestone arena!  Olivia was just as excited as Steve was and kept waving to every guy on the ice yelling, "Go Dadda!"  It was very fun and hopefully we will get to do it again :) This now has Liv even more insistent on learning to play hockey this winter.....

Hair Styln'

So the other day I was brushing M's hair and Olivia wanted to do it, so I grabbed my camera as she styled her hair. Mad loved it and kept smiling and laughing at Liv, however Liv was very serious and kept telling her sister not to move and "stop talking!"

notice Maddie looking up at her sister:)

Pat's! Pat's! Pat's!

So for the first official game we had a few friends over to kick of the football season.  Since we are down south we have exactly ONE couple that are also friends...they are also from New England.   We made some chowda, wings, chips and dip and other goodies.  Steve decided that he HAD to buy Olivia a bouncy so she and the other kids would play on it during the game...of course that lasted for about 5 minutes the rest of the time they were singing, dancing and being wild:)  Here are a few of the pictures from the other night!

Ballet and big girl food!

The last few days we have had Olivia's ballet class and Mad started on baby food! She is taking 8 ounces now every few hours and the doctor suggested we start with baby food to offset the amount of formula she is eating...of course she is still having the same amount of formula and eating baby food!!! Olivia is interested in trying to help feed Mad, however I have to keep explaining to her not to shove the spoon down her throat!

Playground Playdate!

This past week has been in the high 70's which has been great for us!!! We headed over to the playground after Liv's school was done with our friend Caroline.  Gone are the days that I can sit on the bench while Liv quietly plays within eyesight.  Now we are chasing our children, telling them they cannot jump down 15 ft from the jungle gym, or pushing them on the swings until your biceps are numb because it keeps them in one spot!  I attempted to teach the girls to play hopscotch......seriously what was i thinking?! It ended with the girls fighting over a very large stick, and them running and skipping around the playground screaming "hopscotch!"  Of course trying to do all these things while holding Maddie is a bit difficult, and I cannot even imagine what it is like once I have 2 kids walking....

notice the large stick that they are fighting over....

Man's Best Friend:)

After reading a particular sad yet touching story about a fallen soilder's dog who laid by his casket the entire funeral, got me to really thinking about the four legged friend's in the Beane family....

Here is the article and video as mentioned above
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/24/dog-of-fallen-navy-seal-refuses-to-leave-casket_n_935707.html

Since Madelyn was born the dogs have really been on the back burner.  We try and take them on walks whenever possible, however our large fenced in back yard has been squirrel city for Sadie.  She loves to chase them up trees and literally stalk and bark at them for hours.  Of course her herding nature is not always appreciated by Olivia when she is trying to keep her close in the back yard.  There is something very comforting about Olivia and Sadie in the back yard, Sadie always stays withing 2 feet of where Liv is and never takes her eyes of her.  We know have to watch both dogs when people come to the house, they have become very protective of the girls and whenever someone new comes to the house they don't let them anywhere near the girls for at least a half hour. Both dogs have showed their teeth and growled at visitors they don;t know who have come in and tried to hold one of the kiddos. Of course there is always the usually sketchy people to bark at like the mailman and UPS delivery driver.  And they have made their own"doggy doors" one being the front window screen, the other the back screen door.  But as much as we complain about them, they were our first "babies," and as the Beane family has grown so has our love for all of our furry members:)

Olivia told her teach today she "loves her doggies"

Olivia's First Dentist Appointment!

So we finally brought Liv to her first dentist appointment (according to the National Dental association or something you need to start brining them when they are 1...seriously??) and when we walked in I thought we were at the wrong place.  There were at least 10 flat screen tv's all blaring Mickey Mouse or Dora, an arcade room, fooseball, and numerous sit on rides that you don't have to pay for.  So clearly I am already sold on this dentist!  We headed into the exam room where I have to say they were great with kids.  They showed Liv every tool they used, let her play with them, and the best part had the Disney channel on a flat screen tv in the wall...GENIUS!!!

Potty Training HELP!!!!

So if you get grossed out by talking about "potty issues" DO NOT READ THIS BLOG!

ok....so there is the disclaimer....I thought getting rid of the binky was hard, until I started to try to train Li v on the potty.  I got the bug a few weeks ago when we went to sam's club and bought diapers and formula for the girls and spent over 150, for NOTHING else.  So I decided this would be a perfect time to re-introduce the potty....We currently have a dora seat, frog potty, and princess potty that sings when you pee and cost the amount of a car payment. Anyways,  Liv had no problem telling me when to change her diaper after 1 or 2 so after talking to my mom I mentally prepped myself.

Day 1 pee on the floor and pee in the potty....good first day!(this was about an hour after she came home from preschool)
Day 2 poop in the big girl undies(which made me gag lots of times), pee on the floor, pee in the potty 1.

yes...I am on Day 2 and already so over this potty training thing!!! Seriously I have gone through a
whole bottle of fantastic and done at least 3 loads of laundry....Just when you think you get the hang of parenting, baaaam the kids through you for another loop!!!!!

Any Advice would be appreciated especially in terms of tips/advice that has worked :)  email is Paige.beane@gmail.com

Until next time!
