Crib Drama

After five very long days and nights, we are moving the crib back into Olivia's room. For those of you who don't know we decided with the new baby coming we should transition Liv into a big girl bed. After researching online and talking about it with her for a few days we made the big switch...can we say DISASTER.... Here's a quick description of our last week. Day and Night 1-I fall asleep while trying to put her down for her nap(damn pregnancy!) After screaming, climbing over the baby gate on her door and becoming so upset she was hyperventilating, I laid down with her and again both of us fell asleep almost immediately. Day 2 and 3- after about ten times of her getting out of bed finally takes nap on her own, however does not sleep long or well and combined with the upcoming two year birthday (terrible two's) is the closest I have ever seen her act like a monster.(Yes blogger's I've said that about my child!) Night 4 we had a breakthrough and after Liv only getting up 3 times, she went to bed on her own, however woke up and came into our room before the sun was up! Last night Steve attempted to put her to bed, by 930 I had enough and brought her into our bed. Which is where today brings my breaking point. Olivia and I do not operate well on anything less than 8 and 12 hrs of sleep (Liv's nap included). I am overstressed, tired, and can barely hold a conversation with my husband. I've decided that one lesson I've learned from this experience is that your child will show you when they are ready for these changes, and your life will be turned upside down if they are pushed into anything. So my husband will be moving the crib back into her room when he gets home from work, and we will all sleep better than we have in a week!

UPDATE-After moving Olivia's crib back into her room, we went to put her into the crib and she started screaming, "Big Girl Bed." So now I am sitting in the living room while Liv is blissfully asleep in her bed....you can't win!!!
