Yesterday we headed over to our friend Declan's house for a swim in their pool. Olivia got a new swim-aid that she LOVES. I am talking doggy-paddling by herself, jumping in and she really is kicking very well! The swim-aid is called a puddle-jumper and they are flying off the shelf's- so all you parent's out there is you see one buy it!! Anyways the kids had a blast and Lexi's mom bought organic cheese puff's, that once Liv spotted them she sat right down and would have eaten the entire bowl if I let her! It was the first time most of us had gotten together so we celebrated Lexi's birthday with some ice-cream and sprinkles! The kids had a blast and it was warm and sunny...HEAVEN!
After I was cleaning up dinner Liv was running a bit of a temperature, so Steve went up and read to her in her room. As I was listening to him read to her ( on the monitor ) it warmed my heart. You always know that they say there is no greater love than a parent's for a child and it really is true. As Steve kept reading, he made up different words and said them in the book to be funny, just like his dad read to him when he was younger. It is these kind of memories that I hope Liv has as she grows older and looks back at her family. After turning out the lights and climbing the stairs with the dogs in tow, I snuggled in to hear the end of the story and knew that all that mattered at that moment was the love my family had and how lucky we really are.......
