Water Table Fun!

One of Liv's best gifts came from our old friends for Olivia's first birthday. It is a basic sand and water table, water on one side, sand on the other...you get the idea. Well Olivia has spent countless hours and hours playing in it, and now Maddie is also joining in on the fun. Liv loves to bring her barbies swimming, and I let her bring some soap out to wash their hair :) Madelyn LOVES water and her first time playing in the table she just splashed non stop and had an appetizer of sand... Of course Olivia was not happy to be sharing her toy, but after bringing out a new bucket and shovel for the sand side they were good to go! Here are a few pictures that I took yesterday:)

All About Maddie!

Smiling for the camera:)

I cannot believe this April, Madelyn will be a year old, it has gone by way to fast! She has 7 teeth, puts everything in her mouth, and wants to do whatever her older sister Olivia is doing.  We recently started  feeding Maddie solid food like spagetti and mac and cheese. She is still working on getting into her mouth, but more seems to get into her hair than anything else! She crawls very fast and pulls up on all the furniture. She is starting to cruise but still falls down alot.  She is much tougher than ny kid I know. She has a bloody fat lip at least once a week, has bruises, but never cries from her injuries! She says Dada and babbles non-stop at us. She constantly crawls towards the cats and dogs and loves to wave at them. She goes to bed at 7 and sleeps through until about 6:30, which is great and we are both loving this age.

so happy all the time!

Daddy daughter date night

eskimo kisses
Steve has a wonderful tradition of taking out Liv once a month for a special "date" night. Liv gets to get dressed up and goes out to eat and something else with Steve. Liv was talking nonstop for a week what she wanted to do for her date night.....go to a hockey game! Olivia wanted Chinese food, and ate about 3 servings of rice Steve said:) They then headed to the game. Olivia loved the mascot and waved at it nonstop.I truly love how Steve makes a real effort to have individual time, pretty soon it is going to be Madelyn's turn!

Olivia has her bag packed for the date!

Big Girl Bike!

So on another beautiful 70 degree day in Feb. we headed outside to practice Liv riding on big girl bike that Santa brought for christmas. Liv did a great job going back and forth, however has a tough time starting out so she needs a little push.  She also forgets to steer so has headed for our neighbors mailboxes more than once:) Maddie was content and happy hanging out in her little push car and loved trying to pet the cats!

happy girl

ready to go!

checking out Lola as she rides by

forgetting to look where she is steering = almost mailbox catastrophe

70 degrees in Feb= playground!

On a recent 70 degree day (reason number 123 why I love living in the south) we headed to the playground after Liv got out of school.  Our friends Caroline, Carson, and KileyJo joined us. We brought bikes, scooters, and chalk.  The girls had a blast playing together, hopscotch is the new favorite. Of course their version includes just jumping back and forth! Carson and Maddie loved the swings and were on them for a solid 45 minutes! Olivia is finally not afraid to go down slides and loves to do the monkey bars, which when by myself is nearly impossible with both girls. Here are a few pictures of our fun afternoon!
Madelyn is having a crazy hair day!

I love my girls!

Just had to post a quick scene I just saw after bathtime. I asked Liv to keep an eye on Maddie while I put pJ's on. I came in 2 minutes later and Liv was tickling Maddie and both girls were laughing so hard! Liv then tells Maddie that she's her big sister so she has to be a good baby:) I really couldn't have been happier as I spied on them. It was so heartwarming and made me feel like I was doing a good job. Both my girls are happy, loving, and extremely smart. My house may not be in house beautiful, I may possible Be the worlds worst cook, but my kids are happy and that's all that matters to Steve and I! Here's an email I recently got and must had to share to all you REAL mums out there!

Real Mothers don't eat quiche;
They don't have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
Are probably in the sandbox.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
Filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough
Doesn't come out of carpets.

Real Mothers don't want to know what
The vacuum just sucked up...

Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'
And get their answer when a little
Voice says, 'Because I love you best.'

Real Mothers know that a child's growth
Is not measured by height or years or grade...
It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother

Disney Part 1

So we have completed our first trip to Disney and survived! After a quick flight down with just me and the girls (Steve was already in FL for work) we headed over to our hotel. We stayed right on the resort to lessen travel time. My Mum's flight also came in at the same time so we all met at the airport and headed over to check in at the hotel. Olivia was extremely excited to take the shuttle bus, and kept calling it the big girl bus! After relaxing and laying by the pool, we headed out and my mom watched the girls ( yay date night!) The next morning we headed out to see the Magic Kingdom to see the princesses! Liv was overjoyed even though it was extremely hot and crowded. Of course my favorite ride was Its a Small World, and Liv loved every minute of it! We stayed till a little after lunch and then headed back with two very tired girls!! My Mom watched the girls again and we went out with Scotty and Kristy to Epcot for the night :) Sunday we hung out by the pool and got ready for the big game....no comment ........... My mum flew out early Monday and we went again to the Magic Kingdom with all the cousins on Monday. All the kids had a great time at the park together! We went to the pool again later that day, Olivia refused to swim in the kiddie pool because there is a large bucket that pours water on top of the kids area. Tuesday everyone had left so we headed to MGM with just us and the kiddos. We saw 2 great shows, the Muppet's and The little Mermaid and Olivia loved both! We had such a great vacation and it went by way to quick!!!!

Maddie LOVED the water!!
