Olivia's Gymnastic's Awards Class!

lord help us!!!
So last week Olivia had her gymnastic class and at the end of the class they received their awards which was very cute :) Prior to our class it was raining and as I was trying to get her ready she insisted on her picking out her own outfit...you won't think this was a big deal unless you grew up in our house where every holiday was a fight over what outfit we would wear etc... This wouldn't have bothered me a whole lot except we had a few errands to do beforehand and would be out and about( again in a town where no one knows us so clearly this is just my OCD kicking in).  Anyone who knows my Mother/family knows that we always LOVE to dress up and this little habit has been passed on to me(when I'm not sleep deprived/exhausted/working out---actually nowadays anytime that's not a date night!!) So it was with all of my strength that when Olivia came dressed in the pictures below I smiled, gritted my teeth, and we walked out the door.......If this is what she is like at 2 years old how the hell are we going to handle her teenage years!!!

Sharks!

For Father's Day we headed over to the aquarium which is a little over an hour away in Chattanooga.  Since Steve has been traveling a lot since his promotion he has seen a lot more of the south then I have, so I was pretty excited for the ride!  It was so beautiful I couldn't stop taking pictures of the rolling hills, farms, and even some cows; overall a relaxing ride :) Once there Olivia couldn't contain her excitement and ran full sprint to the entrance.  We started out by seeing some fish and sharks and to our surprise Olivia loved the sharks, screaming "Sharks!!!Sharks!!"  The aquarium had a great layout with lot's of kid friendly exhibits. Of course Steve and Liv found the only computer/tech display and stood there for a solid 30 min....I guess she takes after the Beane side with the love of technology and gadgets! Maddie was great, napping most of the time in her stroller.  Of course they had a crab exhibit and I clearly am not over my DEATHLY fear of crabs...I broke out in hives just looking at them!!!  One of the exhibits that we really like was a shallow pool where you could touch sting rays and fish..Liv was too afraid to do it but Steve and I did and they were so slimy!!!They had a great butterfly garden where you saw hundreds of butterfly's, that Olivia wanted to talk through about 1,000 times Here are some pictures of our fun filled Father's Day!
Liv got a nap in on the way!

Steve loved me taking pictures while he drove  lol!!

Pictures!

Trying to get a picture of both Maddie and Olivia smiling has proved impossible. Olivia now likes to make faces at the camera instead of smiling, and Maddie's colic makes her not all that pleasant all the time. So when we were headed out to the playground, both girls were in a good mood so I ATTEMPTED to take pictures of them......How frustrating can it be right??? Well here is a couple of the 30 pictures I took....without much success let me tell you! I now know why they make software that you can replace peoples head's/smiles from other pictures, and if you get a Christmas card from us this year you can be sure we have purchased that software!!

Slip and Slide and Chucky Cheese

soo thirsty!
Last week was again extremely hot, so we headed over to our friend Brynn's house for some slip and slide and popsicle's   Olivia did not understand the concept of running and sliding, and it was more like she ran on the slip and slide, then fell because it was so slippery! After a few attempts at it, she threw in the towel and just laid on it, dipping her head under the fountain, or drinking the water out of it (yes I let my child drink water from the hose so sue me:)  The girls had a great time and Liv was asleep before we pulled out of the neighborhood......

cooling off!

always a favorite snack!

Onto every parent's worst nightmare.....Chucky Cheese. Olivia had been asking for WEEKS to go, and our friend KileyJo was going so I finally gave in and tagged along. KileyJo's grandmother and grandfather met us there, which was a huge help because between Nicole and I we had 4 kids 3 and under!  The girls were sooo excited to go and started a full sprint when they saw it.  The girls had a blast playing games, playing in the tot area and I even attempted to play skeeball with Liv, however quickly decided it was a bad idea once she was throwing them overhand (Steve would be proud) and almost hitting another kid 4 lanes over. They have a large moving Chucky doll that dances on stage, and Olivia was so afraid of it she would walk 50 ft away from it saying "No Chucky No Chucky"  You don't realize how much your own parent did for you until you become a parent and appreciate it!!! So we survived chuckys and I had a LARGE glass of wine when I got home!

Olivia's First Eye Appointment!

Since both Steve and I have a family history of "bad eyes" our pediatrician suggested we bring Olivia in to an optometrist to make sure she is on track.  Steve and I were both nervous about how here appointment would go, since she is not exactly cooperative these days :)  We couldn't have asked her to be any better, she was perfect! She sat on Steve's lap, had no problem looking into the machine at the "balloons" and even got to pick out her own sunglasses afterwards from the treasure chest at the office. That is the good news...the bad news is she is far-sighted, no glasses are needed yet, but they are going to have to keep an eye (no pun intended!) on it :)

Olivia the Athlete!

This past Saturday the town parks and recreation department had a children's triathlon at the local park.  Steve stayed home with the baby so we didn't have to bring her in the heat and we headed over with a few friends.   It was extremely hot on Saturday morning so we made sure to bring plenty of water and loaded on sunblock! Liv and her two friends, KileyJo and Caroline all participated in the the 3rd heat. They had to run a small race, then get on their bikes/tricycle and instead of swimming they ran through sprinklers to the finish lane.  The event was packed but we had a fun time and Olivia was exhausted by the time it was over! Some of the older kids (it was ages 2-6) were really racing but the majority of the kids were just having a great time.  When Olivia started running, she was screaming "Running..Running!!" We made our way to the tricycle and it took over 5 minutes for me to convince Olivia to just put her helmet on.  She is really getting the hang of peddling and we will be buying her a big girl bike in the near future :) By the time the biking section was over the poor thing was exhausted and we just slowly walked through the sprinklers to the finish line.  Each kid got their trophy at the end of the race and it was a great morning followed by a great nap for Olivia:)

Summer is Here!

This past week has been over a hundred degrees EVERY DAY!!!! We have been trying to keep cool by swimming, and staying indoors. Maddie is smiling non-stop, still not sleeping at night (ahhh), and oh yah Liv is now climbing out of her crib! When I say climb out I really mean fling herself over the side and land with a loud thud that shakes the whole house! Those who know Steve know how clumsy he can be and Olivia has clearly inherited this trait :)  Maddie is still colicky and we are hoping that it will start to lessen in the near future!  Here is a few pictures of our past week!
